Premier Cru vineyard Montmains is a cooler Chablisien vineyard site. The grapes are always harvested a touch later than neighbouring Forêts and Butteaux. The wines are generous, and can take at least five years to develop their full complexity. Tyipically mineral and structued, but with elegant, effortless power and ageing potential, especially in the miraculous 2019 vintgae. Long-Depaquit’s Chablis vineyards are always hand-harvested and spend 10 months in oak to allow a depth of flavour and intensity.

Description

Domaine Long-Depaquit Chablis 1er Cru Montmains | Burgundy, France

Negociant Albert Bichot’s stunning Chablis Domaine always over delivers

What’s the story?

Domaine Long-Depaquit boasts an exceptional 65-hectares of vines, with a truly sustainable approach to viticulture. This involves limiting yields and keeping interventions to a minimum during the vinification process allowing for authentic, mineral, elegant wines to be made. Barrel ageing is used in moderation to best preserve the expression of each terroir. A new winery was built at the estate in 2014 to ensure an eco-friendly, modern approach to winemaking whilst preserving traditional Burgundian vinification methods.
